These FREITAG stores offer cargo bikes to rent for anyone who needs to transport stuff around town at a fair price.

First things first, we think it makes way more sense to only use something when you need it rather than to buy something and then have it standing around forever. Secondly, a cargo bicycle is far superior to a car in narrow urban spaces, especially if you’re thinking “quick, let’s go pick up another 100-liter keg of beer”, or “let’s finally throw out that trash in the cellar”, or “we need to get rid of the cracked safe which somehow ended up in our apartment this morning.”

So we’ve signed our two cargo bikes up to carvelo2go.ch and put them in front of our Grüngasse FREITAG store and our flagship store on Geroldstrasse.

RENT A CARGO BIKE IN ZURICH

All you need is a user profile, a credit card and a little bit of internet, and you’re well on your way to reserving one of our bikes. On the day, come to the store and show us your ID. We’ll give you a key and a fully charged battery, and you and your cargo bike can cycle off into the sunset.

Assuming you bring everything back in one piece, carvelo2go will charge you a booking fee and a fee for the number of hours you used the bicycle (max. CHF 5 for the booking fee plus CHF 2 per hour).

RENT F8004 FLOYD AND F8005 LANCE

Both our environmentally friendly Bullitt cargo bikes from OBST&GEMÜSE are equipped with a FREITAG truck tarp canopy and an e-motor. And because we could all use a shot of energy when transporting heavy loads (up to approx. 100 kg), we’ve named our bicycles after convicted doping sinners.

RENT A CARGO BIKE IN KYOTO

You can now rent an F6048113 TONY – our two-wheeled Muli beast of burden with a foldable tarp transport basket – from the FREITAG store in Kyoto. It’s super compact and maneuverable – perfect for Japanese streets.

To rent it out, register on Spinlister, search for the bike in Kyoto, reserve your session and pay online (JPY 1,000 per hour or JPY 2,500 per day). Then simply drop by the store to pick it up and start transporting!

You’ll also find tarp-enhanced cargo bikes at the FREITAG Store Tokyo Shibuya, FREITAG Store Seoul Apgujeong and FREITAG Store Jeju by MMMG, but these aren’t available to rent – they’re on hand to help the F-Crew transport their F-reight.
