THE REINVENTION OF THE ORIGINAL IS BACK

It was the Freitag brothers who brought the messenger bag to the streets in 1993. Markus stayed in Zurich, collecting tarpaulins and trying to master the art of the straight seam. Meanwhile Daniel tested the first FREITAG bags in San Francisco with a professional bicycle courier.

It was much the same in 2006: Markus visited trade fairs, manufacturers and inventors. Daniel got together with whole bunches of messengers and watched courier races. Back in Zurich they designed a prototype, which, in 2007, became the F17 JOE series.

After taking a several-year sabbatical (a biking vacation, needless to say), our ultra-flexible urban messenger bag is back in time for its tenth birthday in a whole bunch of freshly recycled one-off models. At FREITAG, our bags are rugged and long-lasting, but so are our ideas.
